BJW “Strong Style Tournament “RISING” Round 1 Strong 16″, 5/24/2013 [Fri] 19:00 @ Shinkiba 1stRING
[AJPW News] All Japan has officially announced the new directors in charge of All Japan Pro-Wrestling as of June 1st.
代表取締役 白石 伸生 – Representative Director/President: Nobuo Shiraishi
取締役 三阪 輝 – Director: Akira Misaka
取締役 佐藤 智彦 – Director: Tomohiko Sato
取締役 井上 博太 – Director: Hirota Inoue
In side news [RUMOR]: It is unclear at this time, but it is being noted that Keiji Mutoh has officially resigned from All Japan Pro-Wrestling. This is 100% unclear at this time, but that is the general feeling/understanding by those I know within the promotion.
It is also being reported that the former president, Masayuki Uchida, had resigned previously.
[RUMOR / UPDATE] Well I was going to try and let this story pass until more information was released, but I cannot do that now.
Please keep in mind that rumors are just rumors until the true facts are released!
To be blunt, it is being reported that Abdullah Kobayashi has been pulled from all upcoming shows in BJW due to the “suspicion” that he has “Hepatitis C”. During a recent examination at a hospital in Yokohama, Japan, Kobayashi early blood work showed that he might be suffering from the disease. BJW then pulled him from all upcoming shows.
This news should come to very upsetting to a lot of fans and fellow wrestlers as there is always a chance that the disease could be easily transmitted because of all the deathmatches that Kobayashi has taken part in the last year specifically. Hep C can easily be transmitted from blood to blood contact, and since Kobayashi is known as one of the more physically afflicted in deathmatches… the chances of him passing the disease is far too likely.
Sadly, there has a been a strong suspicion that Kobayashi has had this illness for quite sometime now and all wrestlers affiliated with BJW and who were recently in contact with him will undergo a thorough examination. The interesting aspect to why they suspect it occured sooner is that when Kobayashi lost the deathmatch belt earlier this year he announced that he would not be taking a break from deathmatches.
Tokyo Sports is reporting this news as well, so they are not holding back on the BJW assault, so this will be a trying time for BJW… if they didn’t need anything to hurt their fan drawing power to shows. I also should note that TS gave Kobayashi the fighting spirit award last year, so no telling what they think about that part now.
If Kobayashi’s test come back positive it will indeed mean the end of his career, and anyone else who may have ended up with illness as well.

[Manabu Soya / All Japan Update] It has been announced that Manabu Soya [28] has successfully undergone surgery to his left eye in Tokyo, Japan on May 29th.
Manabu was diagnosed with having “superior oblique muscle paralysis” which was noticeable when his head would be titled to one side of his shoulder without he actually knowing it himself. Manabu has also suffered from pain between his shoulder and neck which has been diagnosed as a “deformity in the shoulder joint”. Further examination will be done to his shoulder in the near future with surgery being scheduled to take place June.
Manabu will be undergoing rehabilitation on his eye, while he also prepares for the surgery on his shoulder.
Manabu has been out of action since mid-March of this year as he found out prior that he may have been suffering from multiple issues regarding his shoulder to his eye. Manabu stated that he would strive to return to competition in the future, and he thanks the fans for their continued support at this time.
[Seiya Sanada in Canada Update] Well I just noticed that Rene Dupree has beaten Seiya Sanada for the GAORA TV belt a few days ago, 27th (Monday night) if I am not mistaken, at the Cocagne Arena in Cocagne, New Brunswick, Canada.
Dupree is scheduled to face Sanada a few more times over the next few weeks, so it might be safe to assume that the belt will end up back up with Sanada before he heads back to Japan by the end of the month. Sanada is scheduled for the All Japan show on June 30th at the Ryogoku Kokugikan.
It should also be interesting to note if this even gets acknowledged in Japan, because the belt is actually not even All Japan’s but the GAORA TV Channel’s own belt.
In other notes: Daiki Inaba, current All Japan trainee, is also acting as a second under Seiya Sanada while he is in Canada.
[NOAH News Part 2] Pro Wrestling NOAH released the full event card of the upcoming Misawa Memorial show on June 13th.

Yone has been stating that he is wanting a shot at at the GHC Heavyweight belt and this could very well be his shot to earning one in the near future. Both have something prove to themselves, with KENTA aiming to a strong champion for NOAH and Yone looking to finally take the much needed next step in his career.
The third match of the series will see Yoshihiro Takayama taking on Takeshi Morishima. This match will be all about revenge for Morishima as he aims to reclaim the quick pinfall loss he suffered against Takayama back on May 12th. A solid battle is expected between the two.

NOAH Event Cards for May & June 2013
http://www.puroresuspirit.com/2013/05/02/noah-event-cards-for-may-june-2013/
[NOAH News Part 1] Pro Wrestling NOAH held a press conference for SUWA and Genba Hirayanagi to announce that they will vacate the GHC Junior Tag Team belts due to SUWA suffering from a cervical spine injury. The injury occurred during Kobashi Retirement show on May 11th, and SUWA was noticing numbness in his fingertips.
Because of the injury it is unknown when SUWA will be able to return to competition, but it appears he will not be able to make it back for the upcoming Junior Heavyweight Tag League in July. Of course this is bad news for Genba Hirayanagi as this is first ever reign with the Junior Tag belts, and Genba was reluctant to release the tag belts back to the title committee.
The injury that SUWA is currently suffering from is not keeping him away completely as he recently appeared with Maybach SUWA Jr. at NOAH’s show on 5/26. So the injury does not seem to be as severe as it is not keeping him off his feet, but clearly he needs rest is needed for the injury to heal properly.
Following this announcement, NOAH announced that the winners of the upcoming “7th Annual G+ Cup Junior Heavyweight Tag League” will be crowned the 18th Generation Champions.
There will be 10 teams involved this year with a 2 block system (A Block and B Block).
The League will run from July 14th to July 28th, with the 2 top teams from each block facing each other on July 28th, no semi-finals.

[NJPW News] New Japan Pro Wrestling just released a video for the news that the NWA is coming back to NJPW.
NWA’s President Bruce Tharpe and the NWA World Heavyweight Champion Rob Conway are returning to Japan once more to prove that they are #1. Satoshi Kojima was unsuccessful in his attempt against Conway in April, but now the question stands with who from NJPW will step up to challenge Conway next?
