[NOAH News Part 1] Pro Wrestling NOAH held a press conference for SUWA and Genba Hirayanagi to announce that they will vacate the GHC Junior Tag Team belts due to SUWA suffering from a cervical spine injury. The injury occurred during Kobashi Retirement show on May 11th, and SUWA was noticing numbness in his fingertips.
Because of the injury it is unknown when SUWA will be able to return to competition, but it appears he will not be able to make it back for the upcoming Junior Heavyweight Tag League in July. Of course this is bad news for Genba Hirayanagi as this is first ever reign with the Junior Tag belts, and Genba was reluctant to release the tag belts back to the title committee.
The injury that SUWA is currently suffering from is not keeping him away completely as he recently appeared with Maybach SUWA Jr. at NOAH’s show on 5/26. So the injury does not seem to be as severe as it is not keeping him off his feet, but clearly he needs rest is needed for the injury to heal properly.
Following this announcement, NOAH announced that the winners of the upcoming “7th Annual G+ Cup Junior Heavyweight Tag League” will be crowned the 18th Generation Champions.
There will be 10 teams involved this year with a 2 block system (A Block and B Block).
The League will run from July 14th to July 28th, with the 2 top teams from each block facing each other on July 28th, no semi-finals.
