[7/1] Both Seiya Sanada and KAI officially announced that he is resigning from AJPW
[7/2] K-DOJO’s Taishi Takizawa was arrested on the suspicion of peeping on women in Chiba, Japan. At the time Takizawa was the current CHAMPION OF STRONGEST-K, the main singles belt in the promotion, and he was forced to relinquish the belt and was placed on leave from the promotion.
[7/5] NJPW held a show at the Korakuen Hall. Prince Devitt officially defended the IWGP Jr. belt against Gedo. Devitt in the process earned the match that he asked for against Okada. Hiroshi Tanahashi & Jushin Thunder Liger defeated Tama Tonga & El Terrible to become the CMLL World Tag Champions.
[7/5] AJPW held a press conference to announced the new restructuring of the promotion, following the leaving of over a dozen wrestlers and backstage workers. Burning, Akiyama, Shiozaki, Kanemaru, Kotaro, and Aoki officially joined the promotion. Kyohei Wada was also re-appointed as the head referee of the promotion.
[7/6] DDT held a show at the Nagoya Telepia Hall, Shigehiro Irie defended the KO-D Open-weight belt against Sanshiro Takagi, for his 7th defense.
[7/7] NOAH held a show at the Ariake Colosseum. The main event saw KENTA defend the GHC Heavyweight belt against Naomichi Marufuji in a 36 minute match. KENTA would achieve his 4th successful defense. “TMDK” Mikey Nicholls & Shane Haste also defeated Toru Yano & Takashi Iizuka to become the 29th generation GHC Tag champs. Taiji Ishimori also defeated Super Crazy for his 5th defense of the belt. Katsuhiko Nakajima expressed himself as the next contender for KENTA’s belt.
[7/7] BJW held a show at the Hakata Starlanes. Yuko Miyamoto & Isami Kodaka defend the BJW Tag belts for their 9th successful defense against Masashi Takeda & Takumi Tsukamoto.
[7/7] DDT held the “KING OF DDT” finals at the Nasci Hall Umeda in Osaka. HRASHIMA would defeat Kenny Omega in the final match to win the tournament. He would then state that he wants his title opportunity to takes place on 8/18 at the Ryogoku Kokugikan.
[7/10] Keiji Mutoh held a press conference to officially announced the formation of WRESTLE-1. The promotion would be under GEN Sports Entertainment and will be lead by Keiji Mutoh. All of the wrestlers who left AJPW, and were in Japan, attended the press conference.
[7/14] AJPW held a show at the Korakuen Hall. This show was the first of the new “Shinsei”, aka the rebirth, of the promotion since the split happened at the end of June. The main event would see Suwama and Go Shiozaki face off in a huge 2 out 3 falls match, in which Shiozaki would win.
[7/14] NOAH would hold the opening of the “7th Annual NTV G+ Cup Contention Junior Heavyweight Tag League” at the Korakuen Hall.
[7/17] ZERO1 would hold the opening of the “FIRE FESTIVAL 2013” at the Korakuen Hall. There would also be a special honoring for Naohiro Hoshikawa who would be holding his 20th anniversary as a pro-wrestler if he were still able to compete. NOAH’s Noamichi Marufuji helped Hoshikawa in holding a special impromptu match.
[7/18] Masanobu Fuchi was appointed as a senior adviser to the AJPW Board of Directors.
[7/19] IGF held a show at the Osaka BODYMAKER COLOSSEUM. A 5vs5 Elimination match was held between Kazuyuki Fujita’s Army (Fujita, Bobby Lashley, Atsushi Sawada, Bob Sapp & Shinichi Suzukawa) versus Naoya Ogawa’s Army (Ogawa, Peter Aerts, Hideki Suzuki, Shogun Okamoto & Hiromi Amada).
[7/20] NJPW held a show at the Akita Municipal Gymnasium. Kazuchika Okada would defend his IWGP Heavyweight belt against Prince Devitt, for his 3rd defense. Shinsuke Nakamura would also reclaim the IWGP IC belt after defeating La Sombra, to become the 6th generation champion. Masato Tanaka would also defend his NEVER Open-weight belt against Tetsuya Naito, for his 4th defense. Hiroyoshi Tenzan & Satoshi Kojima would defend the IWGP Tag belts against Toru Yano & Takashi Iizuka, for his 2ns defense. As well as Romero & Koslov defending their IWGP Jr. Tag belts against TAKA & Taichi, for their 2nd defense.
[7/21] DRAGON GATE held a show at the Kobe World Hall. Shingo Takagi becomes the 15th generation Open The Dream Gate belt after he defeated CIMA. Naruki Doi & Ricochet would become the 27th Open The Twin Gate Unified Tag Champs. Masato Yoshino would make his 3rd defense of the Open The Brave Gate belt after he defeated K-ness. Genki Horaguchi HAGee.Mee!!, Jimmy Kanda & Ryo “Jimmy” Saito would make their first defense of the Open The Triangle Gate belts after beating the team of Don Fujii, Dragon Kid & Gamma.
[7/21] DDT held a show at the Korakeun Hall. Shigehiro Irie would make his 8th defense of the KO-D Open-weight championship after he defeated BJW’s Yuji Okabayashi. The trio of Danshoku Dino, Makoto Oishi & DIAMOND RING’s Kensuke Sasaki would become the 5th generation KO-D 6 Person tag champions after defeating Antonio Honda, Hoshitango & Yuji Hino.
[7/25] AJPW would hold a show at the Niihama Commercial Promotion Center. The main event would see Takao Omori vs. Jun Akiyama in singles action.
[7/25] WNC would hold a show at the Shinjuku FACE. Lin Byron would make his first defense of the WNC Women’s championship over Serena Deeb. TAJIRI’s current top protege Yusuke Kodama declared a break from TAJIRI as he joins AKIRA’s Synapse faction.
[7/26] BJW held a show at the Korakuen Hall. Daisuke Sekimoto made his 5th successful defense of the World Strong Heavyweight belt after he defeated Shinobu.
[7/28] AJPW held a show at the Korakuen Hall. The main event would see Suwama & Takao Omori taking on Jun Akiyama & Go Shiozaki a special 2 out of 3 falls match. Suwama would claim the final win for his team and in the process get revenge over Shiozaki for the previous loss in a 2 out of 3 fall match.
[7/28] NOAH held the final day of the “7th Annual NTV G+ Cup Contention Junior Heavyweight Tag League” at the Korakuen Hall. Jushin Thunder Liger & Tiger Mask IV defeated the team of Taiji Ishimori & Atsushi Kotoge to become the 18th generation Jr. Tag Champions. Mohammed Yone, along with Marufuji, would also pick up the victory of KENTA, and Takashi Sugiura, in a GHC Heavyweight Prelude match. Yone was be set to face KENTA on August 8th.
[7/28] BJW held a show at the Club Diamond Hall. Yuko Miyamoto & Isami Kodaka would make their 10th successful defense of the BJW Tag belts against Shu & Kei Brahman.
[7/29] BJW’s ring announcer Yoshiharu Imai passed away at the age of 53.
[7/30] Great Nita and his followers attacked Akebono during Akebono’s public practice seesion. Akebono announced that “Kilauea”, new Great Bono, is coming for revenge against Nita.
