[2/3] NJPW: Masato Tanaka defended the NEVER Openweight Championship against Tomohiro Ishii at the Korakuen Hall, 2nd successful defense.
[2/3] ZERO1 held a show at the Korakuen Hall with “ZER064” Akebono & Daisuke Sekimoto become the 28th Tag Team Champions after defeating the team of Kohei Sato & Zeus. All Japan’s KENSO also competed on the show and defeated Ryoji Sai in singles competition.
[2/8] Atsushi Onita and Akebono once again faced off in a No-rope Barbed-wire Electric Current Blast Deathmatch. Onita would get his revenge win after losing to Akebono in the previous year. Takuya Sugawara also defended the the International & NWA World Junior belts against YO-HEY.
[2/8] Ryuichi Kawakami returned to BJW following a 11 month absence due to injury.
[2/9] AJPW held a show at the Kyoto KBS Hall in which Jun Akiyama, Kotaro Suzuki & Atsushi Aoki made their returns and debuts in the promotion. The former NOAH trio won the match via referee stoppage when Akiyama had Takao Omori locked in a standing guillotine sleeper.
[2/9] NOAH held a show at the Korakuen Hall. During the show Maybach Taniguchi turned against KENTA and aligned himself with NJPW’s Toru Yano & Takashi Iizuka. Yano & Iizuka stole the GHC Tag belts from ringside while the champions were per-occupied in the ring. NOAH’s first rookie in 7 years in Hitoshi Kumano would make his official debut in a losing effort against Atsushi Kotoge.
[2/10] NJPW held a show at the Hiroshima Sun Plaza Hall, which saw Hiroshi Tanahashi defend the IWGP Heavyweight belt against Karl Anderson, 7th successful title defense. Minoru Suzuki would claim the win over Kazuchika Okada and challenge Tanahashi later that night. Kazushi Sakuraba & Katsuyori Shibata would defeat Hirooki Goto & Wataru Inoue in a tag team match. Goto agreed to a singles match against Shibata. KES, Archer & Smith, defended the IWGP Tag belts over Hiroyoshi Tenzan & Satoshi Kojima. Prince Devitt would defend the IWGP Junior Heavyweight belt against Ryusuke Taguchi in an Apollo55 showdown. “Time Splitters” KUSHIDA & Alex Shelley retained the IWGP Junior Tag belts by defeating the former champions in Rocky Romero & Alex Shelley in a rematch.
[2/10] All Japan held a show at the Hakata Starlanes. The event saw “Junior Stars” Minoru Tanaka & Koji Kanemoto reclaim the Asia Tag belts from Hiroshi Yamato & Hikaru Sato. Junior Stars became the 91st generation champions.
[2/11] DIAMOND RING held their annual show at the Korakuen Hall on this day. Kensuke Sasaki made his return o the ring after 4 months on the sideline due to undergoing surgery on his neck. Sasaki would team with Takashi Sugiura as he took on his top student in Katsuhiko Nakajima and ZERO1’s Shinjiro Otani. Sasaki would claim the win over Nakajima after a 20+ minute match. The VOODOO MURDERS made their official return as unit after being gone for 1 year and 8 months. After ttheir return tag match Kento Miyahara & Taishi Takizawa joined VM.
[2/11] DRAGON GATE held a show at the Iwade Citizen Gymnasium, the main event saw CIMA defend the Open The Dream Gate Championship against Jimmy Kanda for his 11th successful defense of the belt. Masaaki Mochizuki & Don Fujii also defended the Open The Twin Gate Unified Tag Championship, for their 5th defense, aginst Naruki Doi & Ricochet.
[2/17] DDT held a show at the Korakuen Hall. The main event of the show saw Kenny Omega defend the KO-D Open-weight Championship, 2nd successful defense, against HARASHIMA. KUDO also made his return to the ring after being on the sideline due to injury for 4 months.
[2/23] AJPW held a show at the Korakuen Hall. The event would see Burning’s Yoshinobu Kanemaru become the 35th generation World Jr. Champion after he defeated Shuji Kondo. The event as a whole was centered around All Japan vs. Burning single matches. Kotaro Suzuki & Atsushi Aoki also stated their intentions of going after the Asia Tag belts.
[2/23] IGF held a show at the Tokyo Dome City Hall “GENOME24 INOKI 70th anniversary battle”.
[2/24] DIAMOND RING held their first hometown show of the year which saw Kento Miyahara officially debuted as a member of the VOODOO MURDERS. Miyahara would also request a singles match against Katsuhiko Nakajima. Antonio Honda also faced off against Kensuke Sasaki in a losing effort.
[2/24] DDT held a show at the Shinkiba 1stRING, the main event saw Kenny Omega defend the DDT EXTREME belt against Seiya Morohashi. Shigehiro Irie also won the right to challenge for the KO-D Openweight belt on March 30 at the Korakuen Hall after winning a contendership tournament.
[2/25] It was announced that Speed Partners had acquired All Japan Pro-Wrestling and would become the new parent company for the promotion. A press conference was held with the owner of Speed Partners in Nobuo Shiraishi and All Japan’s President in Masayuki Uchida.
[2/28] DDT held a special one match show in which Kenny Omega successfully defended the KO-D Open-weight belt against Michael Nakazawa at the Shinkiba 1stRING.
