[7/2] ARISTRIST – Masahiro Chono announced that he had come to a licensing agreement to use the “nWo” logo for his merchandise. Chono of course being the leader of “nWo Japan” in NJPW in the 90’s.
[7/2] RJPW – Masakatsu Funaki would face Yoshiaki Fujiwara for the first time in 23 years as Funaki teamed with Super Tiger and Fujiwara with Great Tiger.
[7/4] NJPW – KUSHIDA would becomes the 68th IWGP Jr. Champion after beating Kota Ibushi at the Korakuen Hall. KUSHIDA would become a double jr. crown champion as he held the IWGP Jr. Tag belts with Alex Shelley. El Desperado turned heel after the match turning on KUSHIDA and aligning himself with Suzuki-gun.
[7/4] AJPW – Jun Akiyama officially annouced the new establishment of All Japan Pro-Wrestling. That he would be taking over as the president of the promotion and Shohei “Giant” Baba’s wife Motoko Baba would be the directing advisor.
[7/4] WRESTLE-1 – Former WNC rookie Hiroki Murase announced that he had joined the promotion.
[7/5] NOAH – Naomichi Marufuji became the 22nd GHC Heavyweight champion after he beat Yuji Nagata after a 25+ minute contest. Katsuhiko Nakajima made the challenge. Takashi Sugiura & Masato Tanaka defended the GHC Tag belts against TMDK. Hirooki Goto & Katsuyori Shibata faced off against Akitoshi Saito & Katsuhiko Nakajima. Daisuke Harada made his 3rd defense of the GHC Jr. belt after he defeated MichiPro’s Kenou. Taiji Ishimori & Atsushi Kotoge became the 22nd GHC Jr. Tag champions after they beat Yoshinari Ogawa & Zack Sabre Jr. Mitsuyoshi Nakai announced that he would be joining Pro Wrestling NOAH as an official rookie.
[7/6] WRESTLE-1 – Held a show at the Ryogoku Kokugikan. The main event saw Great Muta take on Seiya Sanada, in a questionable at best contest. Masayuki Kono besting KAI in a hair vs. hair contest. Masakatsu Funaki becoming the 17th ZERO1 World Heavyweight Champion after beating Kohei Sato. TNA’s Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards defending the TNA World Tag belts against Minoru Tanaka & Koji Kanemoto. Seiki Yoshioka and Hiroshi Yamato would also each win based out of Europe.
[7/7] IGF – Antonio Inoki announced that an “International Pro Wrestling Festival in Pyongyang” in North Korea would be taking place on August 30th & 31st.
[7/7] WRESTLE-1 – Seiya Sanada announced that he signed a working agreement directly with TNA. He would continue working in W-1 when he was free to do so.
[7/7] Tokyo Gurentai – Dr. Wagner Jr. made his return to Japan in roughly 8 years as he teamed with NOSAWA Rongai as they took part in a 3WAY match for the Tokyo IC Tag belts. Hikaru Sato & Masaaki Mochizuki would defeat Wagner & NOSAWA to become the 2nd generation champions. KAI saw a dream come true as he teamed with Atsushi Onita to take on the team of Yoshihiro Takayama & KIKUZAWA.
[7/12] AJPW – All Japan held their first show under Akiyama’s presidency. Jun Akiyama & Takao Omori defended the World Tag belts against KENSO & Mitsuya Nagai. Kento Miayahara had a solid singles match against Suwama, though in defeat. Shiozaki announced his return for August 16th.
[7/12] WWE In Japan – KENTA officially announced that he has signed to the WWE. His official public signing took place on this day as Hulk Hogan was present.
[7/13] ZERO1 – Kicked off the “Fire Festival 2014” at the Korakuen Hall. The main event saw Masato Tanaka against Shinjiro Otani. Daisuke Sekimoto and Hideki Suzuki facing off for the first time in singles competition.
[7/13] IGF – “GENOME30” was held at the Fukuoka Kokusai Center. Daichi Hashimoto faced off against Kazuyuki Fujita.
[7/14] WWE – KENTA held a press conference of his own in Tokyo to talk about the news of his signing to WWE.
[7/17] K-DOJO – “K-UP IMPACT 6” was held at the Shinjuku FACE. TAKA Michinoku defended the Independent World Junior belt against GENTARO, for his 15th defense of the belt.
[7/19] NOAH – Kicked off the “8th Annual NTV G+ Cup Junior Heavy Tag League” at the Shibata Culture Center.
[7/20] DRAGON GATE – BxB Hulk would be crowned the 20th Dream Gate Champion after beating YAMATO. T-Hawk & Eita would be crowned the 32nd Twin Gate Champions after beating Shingo Takagi & Akira Towaza. Naruki Doi, Cyber Kong & Kzy defended the Triangle Gate belts against Genki Horiguchi H. A. Gee. Mee! !, Jimmy Susumu & Naoki Tanizaki. Flamita defended the Brave Gate belt against Dragon Kid.
[7/20] DDT – HARASHIMA vs. Kenny Omega for the KO-D Openweight belt ended in a double KO draw, the big Ryogoku show on August 17th being changed to a 3WAY with Isami Kodaka having already earned a title match. KUDO, Yukio Sakaguchi & Masa Takanashi became the 12th KO-D 6 Person Tag champions after beating Antonio Honda, Konosuke Takeshita & Tetsuya Endo. DDT also announced that they would be holding a show at the Saitama Super Aren on February 15, 2015.
[7/21] NJPW – Kicked off the “G1 CLIMAX 24” at the Hokkaido Prefectural Sports Center. The main event saw AJ Styles vs. Kazuchika Okada and Shinsuke Nakamura facing against Katsuyori Shibata in a singles match for the first tim in nearly 10 years.
[7/21] NOAH – The Jr. Tag League continued on in their 3rd day and Naomichi Marufuji defended the GHC Heavyweight belt against Katsuhiko Nakajima.
[7/21] WRESTLE-1 – Manabu Soya faced Masayuki Kono in the main event. KAI also faced Ryoji Sai in an official sanctioned match of ZERO1’s Fire Festival tournament.
[7/26] AJPW – Kotaro Suzuki defended the GAORA TV belt against DRAGON GATE’s K-Ness. Kento Miyahara had another strong showing in a singles match against Jun Akiyama, though again in loss.
[7/26] BJW – The final of the “Ikkitosen ~ strong climb” took place at the Korakuen Hall. Shuji Ishikawa defeated the BJW World Strong Heavyweight Champion Shinya Ishikawa in the final to win the tournament. Shuji would earn a rematch this time for the belt on August 15ht.
[7/27] AJPW – Joe Doering would become the 50th Triple Crown Champion after beating Suwama in a 20+ minute contest. Doering would be the 6th ever foreign champion. Atsushi Aoki defended the World Jr. belt against Hikaru Sato. Aoki then joined “Evolution”. Shigehiro Irie & Keisuke Ishii defended the Asia Tag belts against Mitsuya Nagai & Takeshi Minamino for their 4th defense of the belts. Kento Miyahara & Kotaro Suzuki would become the next contenders for the Asia Tag belts after Kento claimed a long saught victory over Akiyama and Kanemaru. Menso~re Oyaji took off his mask following a loss to SUSHI and announced that he would be joining All Japan Pro-Wrestling and Xceed under his real name Yohei Nakajima.
