As Dragon Gate continues its push to the FINAL Gate PPV, they will have some big events that will shape the path to the end of the year. Right now we will take a look at two of those events. One of them will be Blood Warrior’s first self produced event (very similar to how NWO had their own self produced PPV shows, showcasing their own members in heavily favored matches) and the other is the final Korakuen show for 2011 which MAY/MAYNOT showcase a Twin Gate title match BUT will definitely have the DG debut of NJPW superstar Prince Devitt!
Blood Warriors Show 1st BLOOD!
11/30/11 Tokyo, Shin-Kiba 1st RING
1) XLAW International Title Match: El Samurai (C) Vs Tomahawk T.T.
Another match to showcase one of DG’s rookies that got promoted to “full time” status. El Samurai is a long time veteran of the puro scene, making the biggest impact in NJPW. XLAW to be honest is a small time fed that really holds no significance in the long scheme of things but a title win is still a big thing for Tomahawk, if he gets the nod.
2) Uhaa Nation Vs Kotoka
Uhaa Nation is a young American Indy wrestler who has been getting a lot of buzz from the Dragon Gate USA branch (and rightfully so, the guy reminds me of a young Ruckus) and has earned a right to do a tour of Japan. This is a huge opportunity for the young high flyer as guys like Ricochet and Rich Swann have not only become more recognized for their time in Japan but have also (in the case of Ricochet) picked up some gold for their efforts. It should also be mentioned that Uhaa Nation is now a member of Blood Warriors, replacing the recently kicked out Cyber Kong. Kotoka is of course another DG rookie who is honestly kinda regressing a little bit in comparison to Tomahawk T.T and now possible super rookie Chihiro Tominaga.
3) Ryo Saito, Genki Horiguchi Vs Yasushi Kanda, Takuya Sugawara
This is the return of Takuya Sugawara to DG. For those of you who dont know, Sugawara was a member of the famous T2P class as well as a member of the infamous Royal Brothers (with the recent retired Anthony W Mori). Sugawara would make his name known as a big time heel and along with his Aagan Issou brethren would get kicked out of DG for supposedly disorderly conduct. From there Sugawara has been pretty much a main stay for Zero 1, being a big time heel and winning numerous titles. He now returns to join Yasushi Kanda to face the usually popular duo of Maraha Issapa, Genki Horiguchi and Ryo Saito.
4) Naruki Doi, Naoki Tanizaki, Kzy Vs NOSAWA Rongai, KIKUZAWA, FUJITA
Along with this show being dominated by Blood Warrior members, they have invited a bunch of their friends. Tokyo GURENTAI made several appearances in DG over the years and now they are back…or at least some of them. GURENTAI member MAZADA unfortunately was recently incarcerated and is now replaced by some time member FUJITA (which is actually a better deal IMO). KIKUZAWA is always great to have around and the less I say about NOSAWA probably the better. Whether or not this will be for the Triangle Gate titles (as Doi Darts have them) remains to be seen but considering this is a Blood Warriors show, Im sure they may pop up in the end.
5) Open the Twin Gate Championship Match: CIMA, Ricochet (C) Vs Akira Tozawa, BxB Hulk
This should be a really great match. All four men work well together and throw in the fact that its NOW for the Twin Gate titles add to the intrigue. CIMA announced a few nights back that win or lose, he and Ricochet will vacate the Twin Gate titles to focus on their own single title goals (CIMA will challenge for the Dream Gate title at Final gate while Ricochet will be defending the Brave Gate title against either Dragon Kid or Masato Yoshino.) Originally the team of KAGETORA and Susumu Yokosuka were supposed to get a Twin Gate title shot at Korakuen Hall BUT after CIMA pinned KAGETORA a week ago, he revoked the title match. Word is that KAGETORA and Susumu will be at this show to get their title shot. It will be interesting to see how this match ends up and who has the Twin Gates by the end of the night.
12/1/11 Tokyo, Korakuen Hall
0) K-Ness, Kenichiro Arai Vs Kotoka, Super Shenlong
1) Naoki Tanizaki, Yasushi Kanda, Uhaa Nation Vs Don Fujii, Gamma, Rich Swann
2) Shingo Takagi, Dragon Kid Vs Naruki Doi, Kzy
3) YAMATO Vs Cyber Kong
This is a special match that was requested by Cyber Kong after he was pinned in the loser leaves his unit match between Blood Warriors and Junction Three. YAMATO was the man to pin Cyber Kong and so in order to save some face, or mask, Kong wants to prove that he can survive on his own without his Blood Warriors cohorts. The real question will be who will Cyber Kong end up aligning with by the new year?
4) Dream Tag Team Match: PAC, Prince Devitt (New Japan) Vs Ryo Saito, Genki Horiguchi
This will be Prince Devitt’s first foray into DG, following some NJPW legends like (former Open the Dream Gate CHampion) Jushin Liger and Koji Kanemoto. It will be great to see how this match will go as Maraha Issapa is arguably the best duo to ever come out of Dragon Gate while PAC is IMO a huge upgrade from Devitt’s usual Apollo 55 partner Ryusuke Taguchi. I hope this wont be Devitt’s last participation in DG.
5) BxB Hulk, Akira Tozawa Vs Masaaki Mochizuki, Masato Yoshino
This match could be for the Open the Twin Gate title as Hulk and Tozawa could win it at the Blood Warriors event. Not much else to say about the match except for the still bad blood brewing between Hulk, Tozawa and Mochizuki.
6) CIMA, Ricochet Vs Susumu Yokosuka, KAGETORA
Or this match could be for the Twin Gate titles. Either way both tag matches are pretty solid, so no argument in the end of who gets the titles or what becomes a championship match.
