The big event tomorrow (11/27) will be headlined by a double main event in which Jun Akiyama will be defending the All Japan Triple Crown Championship, for his first defense, against Taiyo Kea and Go Shiozaki will be defending the GHC Heavyweight Championship against KENTA.
Go Shiozaki is looking to prove himself as one of the top wrestlers in NOAH today, but KENTA just so happens to be have a mission of changing the foundation of NOAH. Outside of Marufuji and Ogawa, there has been no Juniors to hold the most prestigious belt in NOAH the GHC Heavyweight Championship. KENTA wants to go as one of the best in NOAH, but only those who have held that belt have been fully recognized as the top in the promotion. KENTA has held both of the belts in the Junior division and is now has his eyes set on the top prize. After a strong showing in the Global League this month KENTA has definitely earned his place as he has backed up his lack of size in skill, but will the reigning champion Shiozaki prove to be the better in terms of size and skill? This match is sure to keep all of us talking after it is all said and done. If KENTA can pull off the upset and become champion this will be the significant power for KENTA to start the said change.
Jun Akiyama has finally won the Triple Crown Championship and will have his first defense against Taiyo Kea. These two recently faced off one on one in the All Japan’s Champion Carnival Tournament back on April 8th, 2011 in which the match ended in a time limit draw. Kea is looking to bring the back home to All Japan as right now the promotion remains without a champion under their banner. Kea says he will bring his 100% and he hopes for Akiyama to bring his 100% best as well.
There will also be a determining match for the GHC Junior Heavyweight belt as Ricky Marvin relinquished the belt until he could face off against the former champion Katsuhiko Nakajima, who was forced to drop the belt due to illness. Nakajima is finally back in the ring after spending most of October recovering and these two are set to determine who is the rightful champion. Nakajima is known for intensity in his matches and it should be interesting to see what Marvin can bring to the table in terms of turning the match to his favor.
The event will also see the in ring return of Naomichi Marufuji who has been out of the ring 7 months due to injury. His return will not come easy though as he is set to face off against the former GHC Heavyweight Champion Takashi Sugiura. Marufuji is known for being able to adapt to any opponent, but that doesn’t leave Sugiura too far back as he has proven himself as one of the best that NOAH has to offer. These two have had solid matches back when they were Juniors and it should be interesting to see how things will indeed stack up when they square off in the ring tomorrow.
The undercard is also looking interesting as well with most notably being Kenta Kobashi and Kensuke Sasaki teaming together to take on Takuma Sano and up and coming Shuhei Taniguchi.
